About this artwork
In Friends Talking, I wanted to capture that suspended moment in which intimacy between friends requires no fanfare. It's a conversation without audible words, but charged with presence, listening, and subtle understanding. The title alludes to the action, but what is represented is the emotional atmosphere surrounding the act: containment, closeness, mindfulness.
The scene is deliberately floating, with no defined background, because this conversation—like… many between friends—occurs in a symbolic space: it doesn't matter where they are, but that they are together. It's a moment of pause, of feminine communion, of consolation perhaps, or of quiet joy.
More than depicting a dialogue, I wanted to depict the invisible bond that is woven when words flow between those who know each other deeply.
