Just as I strive to preserve memories for future generations, I captured the complex, jewel-like seeds of the pomegranate—each one a symbol of abundance and precious moments. Painted with layers of oil on canvas, it represents the beauty we must hold onto before it fades. A tribute to nature’s resilience and the legacy we leave behind.

My artist eye is always looking for interesting colors, shades, and forms. And during Christmas we used a pomegranate apple in a salad. And when finished with our dinner, this leftover pomegranate apple was lying on the counter. Intrigued by the composition, the shades of the skin, how the light fell over it and the stark color contrast between the white fruit flesh and red radiant seeds made me want to take a picture, so I could paint it on a later moment.
