MT Hood Angoon Alaska is a part of a series on Admiralty Island and the area around the Tlingit Village of Angoon, Alaska; approximately 90 miles west of Juneau as the Raven flies. Not to be confused with MT Hood Oregon, it is flanked by the deep Hood Bay, home to salmon, halibut, Pacific Cod, Humpback Whales and rich native lore.

Ron Kasprisin is a self-taught watercolor artist with a rich background as a retired architect and urban designer, who honed his craft through workshops with renowned artists. He employs loose, impressionistic techniques, embracing the fluid, dynamic qualities of watercolor to evoke a sense of movement and atmosphere. His expressive paintings celebrate North America’s working architecture, landscapes, and wildlife, capturing the spirit and stories of remote regions. Ron’s work conveys nostalgia, reverence, and a profound connection to the places and cultures he depicts, inviting viewers to share in his sense of adventure and discovery.
Ron is a Professor Emeritus, College of Built Environments, University of Washington; a retired architect and urban planner, principal of Kasprisin Pettinari Design; and is the author of six books on watercolor, design composition and urban design: "Urban Design: the composition of complexity, Second Edition",; "Play in Creative Problem-Solving".
