About this artwork
No Future is a mixed-media work on paper, combining collage, acrylic paint, and graphic interventions in an intense, layered composition. Inspired by street art and urban posters, the work evokes walls worn by time, protest, and collective memory.
The central figure, constructed through overlapping images and matter, appears fragmented and partially disjointed, a symbol of a fragile and unstable contemporary identity. The face, punctuated by contrasting… lines and colors, suggests a state of suspension between past and present, between sacredness and everyday life.
Textual and symbolic elements, such as the words "NO FUTURE" and the clock, reinforce the themes of time and uncertainty, prompting a critical reflection on the lack of prospects and generational disillusionment. The gestural marks, drips, and splashes of color create a constant visual tension between order and chaos.

Rosario Annunziata is an Italian painter born at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, a land where history continues to burn beneath the surface and art becomes a necessity of expression. His work combines gestural energy and primitive signs, between abstraction and figuration, rooted in Neapolitan culture and the archaic symbols of the Mediterranean. Through textured, layered surfaces, charged with color, he constructs an intense yet silent social commentary, capturing the restlessness of contemporary man. Broken faces, crosses, volcanoes, and totemic animals emerge as recurring elements, evoking identity, memory, and resistance. Influenced by Basquiat, De Kooning, and the language of urban graffiti, he transforms gesture into language and painting into emotional tension. He lives and works in Campania, where he combines his artistic practice with teaching.
