About this artwork
The girl who played to be God of the ants: The play represents the true story of my friend Reyna when she was a child.
And my friend Inés, with her wonderful way of expressing herself, relates it:
"The slow hours of the hot siesta creep asleep...
There was time to think, in those empty and silent hours, veiled by a cloak of suspended torpor that reached even the songbirds lulled in the deep shadows of the trees.
Then those questions that remain… hammering in doubt appeared. What was it that they always said at home? What was it that I couldn't quite understand, that the grandparents, uncles and my parents repeated ad nauseam? That, that idea that there was a God, that for me did not really exist, because I could not see him, or touch him, or hear him, that he was like a powerful extraterrestrial force, that could decide life, death, suffering, happiness... .A boss of everything... he did and undid, .. I started to think ..."
