About this artwork
This work made from an old physics book that accompanied the artist during 40 years of teaching and whom she wanted to save, represents the SAUDADE felt by the paper fibers of that distant time when they were a tree.
That embossed evocation inside the book is faint, like a memory.
In the covers of the book, which treasure its most intimate secret, lichens grow as in yesteryear ...
Its sensitive tree soul beats, hinted by the brightness of the… light that increases and decreases inside, until it is extinguished to dawn again, completing a cycle and emulating the light of the days and the restorative starry nights.
SAUDADE: word of the Portuguese and Galician culture. No word in Spanish is capable of capturing at the same time the feeling from the joyous memory that also hurts. This word treasures a collection of emotions and sensations that evoke remotely from the sensations of the present.
