About this artwork

“Essence Within” is a meditation on the quiet strength of introspection—a visual space where fleeting emotion and subtle energy converge.
Through layered applications of acrylic and oil pastel, I sought to evoke a sense of movement not bound by form, but by feeling.
Soft, sweeping brushstrokes dance with impressionistic gestures, conjuring the sensation of a breeze passing through an unseen garden—transient, tender, and alive.
This work balances… abstraction with expression, allowing memory, mood, and the ephemeral to surface in unexpected ways.
As part of the I Need Less in My Life series, it reflects a desire to peel back the noise of daily life and reconnect with what lies beneath. In its contemplative stillness, Essence Within offers both calm and vitality—a gentle invitation to pause, breathe, and rediscover the richness of simplicity.- Roshi
