About this artwork
In this collage, figurative and abstract elements converge. Surfaces with varying textures and circular patterns structure the pictorial space, while several human figures appear in different sizes and positions.
The composition plays with scale, depth, and perspective. The combination of gold, white, and dark areas creates a rhythmic interplay of light and shadow. Recurring circular shapes visually and conceptually connect the individual layers… of the image.
The work moves between dream and reality, stillness and movement, inviting viewers to discover narrative connections for themselves. "One and a Half Meters" refers to the tension between distance and closeness that characterized the pandemic era.

In multi-layered compositions, Roswitha Müller combines places, landscapes and people to create stories full of emotions and surprises. Her often tactile works oscillate between the familiar and the unknown.
