About this artwork
The work is a pure abstract painting focused on the power of colour and form. Using fluorescent pigments along side opaque colours to create distinct areas to explore. Irregular forms of colour are not unlike rock formations found in nature and the fluorescent pink and yellow light is liken to a dramatic sunset.

Rudeen Gibson is a Canadian painter whose works have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally. His works are inspired by the New York school movement of abstract expressionism. Gibson creates dynamic imagery through the application of paint in a gestural style, emphasizing vivid color interactions, texture, and deliberate markings. Using intuitive techniques, he paints using oils, acrylics, as well as mixed media.
