Luna Woods is an oil painting on panel showing a dense stand of tall trees seen from within the forest.
Light filters through the canopy, catching on trunks and branches while the background recedes into a cool, hazy green-blue. The foreground features tangled roots and undergrowth, painted with thicker, more textured marks.
The work uses a restrained palette of greens, umbers, and subtle warm highlights to evoke the quiet, enclosed atmosphere of… woodland on an overcast or early morning day. It focuses on the interplay of light and shadow among vertical forms, suggesting depth without explicit detail.
A direct response to being immersed in the woods—observing how light moves through layers of trees and foliage.
« For me painting is a continual exploration of light form and space »
