About this artwork
This new series came from a place of intrinsic DNA coding. Growing up in Los Angeles and Oxnard California. Spending time with both mom and dad on varying weekends the only culture I had was skateboarding around both cities, and cali Tacos IYKYK :)). With a mom and a grandma from New Mexico and a dad partly raised in Germany our history was both lost and found in innate ness. I never knew where I truly came from because of lost historical nuance…
aka the slave trade. However, creating these pieces have allowed those store fronts and clothing patterns, and visual unawareness while pushing past little hood galleries in Lamert Park have shown up here. It’s all here! Thank you brain. You’ve done well remembering things I never knew were there!
