In the series "Thought Growths," I explore formations from nature and imagine what they might look like in other forms. The two-layered arrangement of the paper cutout creates a new layer of shadow that shifts constantly in the light, depending on the viewing angle—just as our reality is constantly changing.
Sabine Hilscher works primarily with ink, watercolor, and delicate paper cutouts, having studied Fine Arts at the Berlin University of the Arts, where she also completed her master's studies. Her richly detailed works are created through experimental sealing techniques, precise lines, and the layering of multiple layers, resulting in fascinating effects of light and space. Her works radiate a quiet, meditative depth, inviting viewers to observe nature closely and conveying the complexity and constant change of life.
