About this artwork
I made this work inspired by Banksy's mural in Finsbury Park. The theme is the same: climate change. What does the Mona Lisa have to do with all this? She has committed herself to being a careful observer of everything around her and to being a faithful and acute witness of our times. To be the interpreter, the victim or the spectator, sometimes silent and sometimes protesting, but always coherent of the world we live in. She cares about climate… problems, pollution, what she shouts is: "THEY KEEP THROWING WHAT IS HARMFUL ON ME"
What intrigues me is the final effect... it reminds me of the latest generation environmental movement that uses washable paint to protest on works of art in museums. I wonder if she will be happy about it? In any case, she has been open to this analysis for centuries, she would never want to appear closed in a frame of coke cans, she would like to come out, shout, to make her voice heard clearly and loudly.
"I love art as I love life! The two things cannot be separated, because art is the representation of our inner world and the vision of the world that we represent" Sabrina Missere, a self-taught painter, uses mediums such as oil and acrylic paints, and recycled materials. An expert in abstract art, Missere mixes pop-art and street-art techniques, using brush strokes and spatulas to transform the ordinary into the exceptional. Her works reflect feelings of loneliness and incommunicability, but also a hope for renewal and rebirth, transforming these themes into a powerful artistic vision.
