About this artwork
During this Christmas season, Paris transforms into a magical world. Its squares and boulevards light up, creating a vibrant night where the city fully embodies its nickname, the City of Light. These bursts of light are the inspiration for the Beauty of Speed series.
The lights become dancing figures, poised between abstraction and movement. They seem to sway to their own inner melody, spinning around, as if animated by a secret breath. Through… these fluid forms, the light takes shape, sings, and traces the rhythm of a silent score—sometimes gentle, sometimes energetic.
Red Harmony VII belongs to a series of twelve paintings in which light leads its own existence, offering the gaze the tempo of an intimate music.

Saima Altunkaya, a German-Assyrian photographer living in Paris, combines photography with painting, drawing on its deep roots. She adopts techniques such as long exposure and multiple exposure, creating dreamlike images where chance sublimates precision, abolishing the boundaries between reality and imagination.
