About this artwork
These stitched pieces of a male figure standing, bending, twisting and flexing were inspired by illustrations in an anatomy book for artists from the early 20th century. The text from this book describes, tediously, what happens to each muscle as the figure moves; but fragments of the text, standing alone, are a kind of found poetry.
