About this artwork
When I created this work, I wanted to explore the contrast between war and the innocence of childhood, using visual elements that were both playful and provocative. In the center of the composition, I drew a large, stylized black bomber plane. The plane represents the symbol of destruction and conflict, a dark presence in the deep blue sky.
Instead of dropping bombs from the plane, I decided to make an unexpected choice, cats, with colorful umbrellas… like paratroopers. I wanted these cats, with their bright umbrellas in red, orange, green, blue and purple, to bring a touch of fantasy and lightness. The idea was to transform a symbol of war into something surreal and playful, as if imagination could alter the darkest reality.
In the lower part of the work, I painted two stylized children, to create a sense of nostalgia and innocence.
