About this artwork
This work is a declaration: after every storm, after every pain, after every part of me that has been broken – I have risen again. In color.
“And Still I Rise in Color” tells of precisely this moment when light and darkness no longer fight each other, but create something new together.
The vertical lines resemble traces of rain – memories flowing downwards, while in the background, color breathes again. Warm yellow, deep blue, burning red: emotions… allowed to coexist.
This image speaks of healing that is not straightforward. Of a heart that has seen much and yet continues to shine.
An inner awakening that doesn't have to be loud to be true.
It is a visual chapter of rediscovery:
A rising, a breathing, a moving on – in all the colors that make us who we are.
Sandra Krämer uses acrylic paints, texture pastes, and mixed media, drawing from a self-taught background inspired by her family's oil painting. Her style is intuitive, emotional, and characterized by the exciting interplay between spontaneity and control, creating a lively dialogue through layering, palette knife techniques, and tactile textures. Her works radiate depth and resonance—between vulnerability and inner strength, they open spaces for healing, reflection, and hope.
