About this artwork
When I painted this work, I was going through a period of profound personal transformation. Without consciously seeking it, the figure of Isis began to appear in my creative process as a symbol of change, intuition, and rebirth.
As the flower emerged from layers of blue and flashes of light, I felt it was also transforming something within me.
It allowed me to see aspects of myself more clearly, to let go of what had already served its purpose,… and to open up space for new possibilities. That, for me, is one of the great magics of art: it not only expresses who we are, but it can also accompany us on our journey toward becoming who we are meant to be. And not only the creator, but also those who connect with the work.
I think we are drawn to certain stories and symbols because we recognize something of our own experience in them.
The figure of the Egyptian Goddess Isis continues to inspire us thousands of years later: it reminds us of our ability to rebuild ourselves, evolve and flourish again.
