About this artwork
This work is part of my series entitled Sgarci (Gashes). It represents liberation from our inner fears. I have a particular phobia of birds and fish; I'm attracted to their beauty, but I'm deeply afraid of them. The birds in this case represent the fear that comes out through a gash in their backs.
