Title: Turn around and meet yourself.
In her artistic work, the artist combines her two passions - painting and dance. Since she dances ballet herself, the dance motivates her over and over again. Sarah Jil Niklas draws inspiration for her motif worlds from him.
She is constantly on the lookout for interpersonal relationships. Her pictures reflect her fascination for and longing for connection, fusion,… togetherness in its deeper dimension.
A photo shoot with a professional dancer friend and the artist herself took place in preparation for the painting.
The picture is masterfully painted on canvas using Niklas' unique technique, without a brush.
The proportions in the room representations are estimated. The work is stretched on an approx. 4 cm deep professional stretcher frame and can be hung directly.

Sarah Jil Niklas is a an award-winning painter and sculptor based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally and in the Netherlands and Italy. She describes her speciality as being sculptural imagery that "float in space" on semi-transparent fabric. In addition to being an artist, Niklas is also a ballet dancer. As such, movement and interpersonal relationships are ever-present in her compositions.
