About this artwork
In this piece, I dive into pop art’s vibrant energy, blending abstract, figurative, and geometric styles to celebrate iconic beauty with a modern twist. Using acrylic and ink, I created a dynamic rhythm of lines and colors that pulse with emotion and boldness. This artwork radiates a nostalgic yet fresh vibe, energizing any space with its playful, unmistakable spirit.
Created using the "Picselazum" technique, it depicts the famous Marilyn Monroe.… The canvas is completely white, with only Monroe's face drawn on it. The pixels are made of light pink acrylic, and in some places, the pixels are overpainted to create an illusion of the icon's face.
To create a 1m x 1m painting, it takes five days just to make the canvas and one day to mix the paint.
A unique piece.
Sargis Knyazyan, a painter born in Armenia and now based in Spain, works with innovative painting methods that reflect his deep artistic experience. He uses his pioneering "Picselazum" technique—pushing paint through the canvas to create pixelated textures—blending tactile, contemporary illusion with references to the past. His works are intensely expressive, evoking nostalgia, unity, and the intricate beauty and cruelty of the human experience.
