About this artwork
In this painting I sought to explore the raw, vibrant emotions that colour our perceptions of identity and connection. Using strokes of acrylic and watercolour, blended with stark lines of ink, I combined elements of Fauvism and Impressionism to create an interplay of colour and form. I painted this portrait impression of US director David Lynch in 2023. In 2024 it was announced that he had died.

Sean Bw Parker (MA) is a British artist, writer and musician specialising in art, cultural theory and justice reform. After gaining a Masters degree in Fine Art from the University for the Creative Arts in 2003 he lived and worked in Istanbul for ten years, has published books and articles, released albums, performed at or curated festivals, given a TED talk, had paintings displayed at London’s South Bank and other exhibitions, and won a number of awards. He was born in Exeter in 1975 and currently lives on the West Sussex coast.
