About this artwork
In this piece, I delve into the metaphysical realm, exploring themes of perception and irony. The textured strokes and deep blues symbolize the vast, unknown depths of our universe and mind, highlighted by cosmic symbols and a radiant red orb suggesting an omnipresent yet concealed truth. "Et tamen... plana est!" captures the irony of human conviction in a flat yet boundless existence. In your home, it invites reflection, igniting conversations on…
reality and belief, cloaked in enigmatic beauty.

« In the modern world, we have lost the ability to understand the picture and to enjoy contemplation. My creativity helps turn on the imagination and enjoy art. »
Sergey Sergeev is an experienced artist of Russian origin, living and working in France since 2013. Influenced by the masters of the Northern Renaissance, his work is created using a multi-layered technique to create his characteristic dynamic and complex paintings. Sergeev's work also draws on the underlying philosophy of 17th century Taoist painting and the symbolism of runic signs. His artistic oeuvre is characterized by static images that contemplate technology, surveillance, cyborgs and history.
