Against the softened pink ground, darkened traces neither disappear nor stabilize; they persist within a state of tension. Here, existence is not defined by… form, but sustained through the act of leaving, dissolving, and remaining.

Seungho Jang is a South Korean abstract painter exploring how to remain fully human within structures shaped by competition, conformity, and efficiency. For him, painting is not representation, but a space where sensation, memory, and existence can resist being reduced to function.
His layered surfaces emerge through repetition, dripping, erasure, accumulation, and spontaneous gesture. These marks are not decorative; they are traces of pressure, vulnerability, resistance, and survival.
Nature is central to his work—not as a subject, but as a mode of existence. Human beings are part of its fluid and constantly transforming order. Through fragmentation and reconstruction, Jang explores how life continues to reorganize itself within structures that attempt to contain it.
His paintings return to a persistent question:
How can we preserve the complexity of being in a world that continually tries to reduce it?
