About this artwork
Desire, death and delicious anguish mingle in this feminine figure where attributes of the goddess Kali are invited: skull, tongue out, trampling of a masculine figure. A rear end in the shape of a death's head, spiked nipples, an absent belly, three arms, my fantasy imagination expresses itself by drawing on my Hindu culture to free this white Kali with multiple dualities (fear and desire / Eastern and Western / life and death).

Why Shank ARTE?
Shank is for Shankar, a Hindu first name which reflects my paternal Indian origins (via Mauritius).
As for my mother, who came to lighten the dark skin of my Indo-Mauritian origins, she is French with an Italian father, hence Arte, and a European mother (mainly British).
On my father's side, as on my mother's side, it's exile.
You should know that I am also a pharmacist!!!
Am I the only pharmacist (2000), graphic designer (2011), artist (1975), in France, or even in the world? I haven't checked...
