About this artwork
The scene takes place at the 1950s-themed Jack Rabbit Slim's restaurant. Mia Wallace (played by Uma Thurman) sits at a diner table, smoking a cigarette while enjoying a $5 vanilla milkshake. The conversation is relaxed yet tense and stylish, framed by neon lights and a retro atmosphere. It's an iconic moment for its visual simplicity.
« In each person, I felt a part of me. When I look at the work, I do not see a final result, but the memory of a piece of my experience. »
Sheila González is an artist based in Spain whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United Arab Emirates, the United States, and Italy. Translating the mystery and expression of the woman is one of the main themes in her works. In addition, González is inspired by the aesethetics of black and white photography from the 1940s and 1950s. Through gesture and color, her impressionist compositions portray the relationships and interiors lives of her subjects.
