About this artwork

Exploration of time and urban landscapes. Measuring 36 x 48 inches, this large collage painting is composed of two abutting wooden panels.
Layered numbers, letters, measuring devices, found objects and thick paint, creating a raised relief surface. The textured surface evokes the layered textures of city walls, plastered with advertisements, posters, and graffiti. The predominantly blue, green, purple, hot orange and pink hues, accented with strong… black and white, and neutral tones, create a visually stimulating experience.
The title hints at the artwork's underlying theme: the accumulation of symbols and signs mirroring the relentless passage of time. The two-inch profile gives the diptych a sculptural presence, adding depth and weight to the piece. A subtle horizon line is formed where the panels meet, grounding the composition and focusing the eye.
