About this artwork
I thought it was finished but as this piece rested in my studio, I realized it was still maturing. I am very happy with the results of a few small but significant changes.
I found myself drawn to this combination in the garden; magical purples set against the energy of green. The ice in this painting is rendered in these unexpected colors, a fusion that reshapes our perception of a familiar substance.
The Ice series is about the recognition of… change in all its forms; personal, physical, philosophical, perceptual, and cultural. Responding to all of these with grace, celebrating that which is passing while moving forward with acceptance, and joy to that which lies ahead.
