About this artwork
Layers of paint, wood, and time reveal themselves through a quiet symmetry. What once may have been functional or decorative now unfolds as a composition shaped by weathering, touch, and gradual decay. The surface carries traces of repetition and structure, yet each mark remains unique—formed slowly, without intention.
This work belongs to my ongoing exploration of textures found in everyday surroundings. I am drawn to these overlooked surfaces… where time becomes visible, where materials begin to speak through their imperfections and transformations.
My approach remains minimal and attentive. Rather than altering the image, I refine what is already present—balancing tones, clarifying textures, and preserving the natural character of the surface. The intention is not to dramatize, but to allow the quiet complexity of the material to emerge.
Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Ultra Smooth paper, the image retains its delicate tonal depth and tactile presence.
