Questa serie e' ispirata al periodo Pre Coloniale avvenuto in Africa, e specialmente Simona e' stata affascinata dalle pettinature di questa gente che creavano vere opere d' arte e grande creatività'.
Questi dipinti hanno come supporto tela di yuta, ricavata dai sacchi che in Marocco vengono usati per trasportare le spezie. E' una tela grossa, ruvida e con molta testura come si può' vedere dalle foto, Simona e' intervenuta poco sullo sfondo, lasciando… intravedere le scritte originali, e la trama del tessuto per lasciarle molto naturali.
Sono come reliquie di un passato affascinante e di grande estetismo, ritrovate per caso.
Le tele non sono incorniciate, al momento una stecca di bambù' le sostiene, certamente una cornice spessa dove la tela rimane interiormente rientrata, sarebbe appropriata, come molte altre possibilità' a seconda dell' ambiente.
