Quest' opera e' ambientata in Birmania, ripresa da una mia foto fatta due anni fa nel mio ultimo viaggio in questo meraviglioso paese. La prima volta che ho visitato Birmania, o Myanmar e' stato nel '96, avevano appena aperto le frontiere. La sensazione era davvero quella di essere in un altro pianeta, e non era affatto facile come turista. Quindi sono tornata nel 2018, tutto e' piu' organizzato e molto piu' accessibile a tutti i livelli. Ma quello…
che mi ha sconvolto e' la quantità' di plastica che invade, strade, campi, alberi, fiumi e ogni cosa si trovi vicino a un paese. Il pomeriggio della foto, ero andata con altri stranieri a insegnare inglese in un monastero come volontaria, per ringraziarci dopo averci offerto un sano pranzo, i monaci ci hanno portato a visitare una cascata dove si poteva bere coca cola e fare foto!! Era bellissimo, un paradiso incontaminato, ma ancora una volta apparse il sacchetto di plastica.

Simona Marziani is an artist based in Spain whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, in France, Germany, Switzerland, China, Italy, and the United States. Her figurative works celebrate beauty, harmony, and the balance of shapes and colors. Marziani is also inspired by the diversity of different cultures, as well as Buddhism and Eastern philosophies.
