About this artwork
I paint Wisdom and Peace as an exploration of inner peace and universal wisdom. For me, peace begins in the silence of the heart, before becoming collective. Each symbol I draw becomes a living language, inspired by Mediterranean traditions, ancient rituals, and the cycles of life.
Through this work, I seek to create a space of resonance between the human, nature and the divine, where East and West, ancient and contemporary meet. My pictorial gesture… is intuitive and meditative: I let the forms speak, the silences illuminate, and the symbols awaken a deep memory.
I want the viewer to feel peace, to connect with this universal energy and to find, in my universe, a place of contemplation and meditation.

Sonia Souissi, a painter originally from the Kerkennah Islands and now based in Paris, works with oil, acrylic, pigments, and textures, drawing on her Mediterranean roots and her background in computer science. She layers fragments of female figures, ancestral motifs, and universal symbols, creating a subtle balance between abstraction, figuration, ritual miniatures, and expressive graffiti. Her profoundly poetic works reveal the power of the sacred feminine, collective memory, and intense emotion, offering the viewer an immersive journey where dream, spirituality, and intimate resonance intertwine. Through her compositions, color, matter, and the painterly gesture become vehicles for memory, meaning, and contemplation, inviting an experience that is both personal and universal.
