About this artwork
Voyage 2 is an acrylic on paper work that evokes an inner journey, an intimate exploration through memory and imagination. Stylized human figures and geometric forms interact with spontaneous writing, creating a dense and rhythmic visual space.
The deliberately indecipherable symbols represent thoughts, emotions, and experiences accumulated over time. They accompany the movement of bodies, suggesting a journey between different stages of existence.… The contrasts in color and texture reinforce the notion of passage, between balance and imbalance, grounding and freedom.
This work invites the viewer to embark on their own inner journey, to feel rather than understand, and to let themselves be guided by the sensitive language of forms and signs.

Sonia Souissi, a painter originally from the Kerkennah Islands and now based in Paris, works with oil, acrylic, pigments, and textures, drawing on her Mediterranean roots and her background in computer science. She layers fragments of female figures, ancestral motifs, and universal symbols, creating a subtle balance between abstraction, figuration, ritual miniatures, and expressive graffiti.
