About this artwork
The light wind dances under the apple tree.
Through its white and pink blossoms, it carries the scent of spring across the still grass. Between patches of light and shadow, the afternoon breathes softly in my garden, and for a moment the world seems to consist only of sky, warmth, and pollen. A bee buzzes toward the scene, drawn by the "fresh" colors, and tries to collect nectar. The tree conveys growth and life.
Sonja Kalmanfi is a painter who creates her art on canvas and paper using pastels, acrylics, watercolors, and mixed media. She skillfully moves between realism and abstraction, masterfully capturing light, color, and moods. Her works convey a sensual melancholy and invite viewers to connect deeply with nature and their own inner selves at the threshold between dream and reality. She primarily uses the Cilento National Park in Italy as her setting and source of inspiration, where she spends time regularly. In her paintings, the landscapes of this country merge with the artist herself, her inner self. She uses color as an emotional medium and she not only describes objects or places, but also creates psychological temperature. This fits into the international trend of "slow painting" or poetic landscape painting of the present day.
