Down there, where light is only a memory,
The river continues its journey, invisible, silent.
It carries stories of leaves and wind.
And eventually, it resurfaces… Using pastels, I captured the flowing energy of the water and the embracing stillness of the rocks. This work reveals the interplay of light and shadow, radiating a magical tranquility in the Cilento hinterland, Caselle in Pittari, where the river disappears into Monte Cervati, only… to re-emerge in Morigerati after seven kilometers underground. It brings the power of nature into your home and invites you to linger in moments of reflection and deep breaths.

Sonja Kalmanfi dedicates her artistic work with extraordinary consistency to the Cilento region in southern Italy.
