About this artwork
This work is an expression of my personal devotion and is rooted in autobiographical experiences. In its creation, I gave free rein to my feelings and thoughts, allowing myself to be guided by the organic development of form, color, and material.
Over several days, I created a multi-layered surface by applying and simultaneously removing layer after layer – using acrylic paint, oil pastels, and graffiti spray. In this process, traces of intuition… and memory condense into a web that makes my inner struggle visible.
Sonja Stamer works as a painter and digital artist, pursuing her self-taught path outside of academic conventions, full of curiosity and a spirit of experimentation. Her works are abstract, clear, and often influenced by digital tools, playing with graphic principles such as line, surface, rhythm, and contrast to create a reduced, multi-layered aesthetic. Her images oscillate between order and chaos, evoking deep emotions, transformational processes, and moments of stillness—inviting viewers to discover the invisible and their own meanings.
