About this artwork
00DOminus_Stehende Welle_Kreis (2015) captures a silent vibration moving upon the surface of water — the subtle motion that precedes the birth of light.
Beneath the concentric waves lies a sense of primordial chaos, where undefined energy begins to seek form.
Emerging from darkness, the circular composition embodies the transition from stillness to resonance, from formless depth to the first trace of time and order.
The work was executed on a 3.3… cm thick wooden panel, emphasizing its solid and physical presence.

Soo Youn Kim is an award-winning painter, draftsman and textile artist who resides in Germany. Her art has been featured in both group and solo exhibitions nationally. Time, rhythm, tones and creation are all themes in her works. As a student, she was fascinated by the geometric language in the visual arts. Setting her own order and rules, she uses geometric standards to simplify forms of nature, transferring invisible terms into new forms.
