About this artwork
I seek to capture the essence of Polynesian lagoons, this alchemy between light and matter where water sculpts shapes and reveals the invisible. In this work, I worked with pigments and textures to bring to life the shifting shades of the lagoon, from deep blue to emerald green, crossed by flashes of gold dancing on the surface. A woman seems to float, suspended between two worlds, contemplating the coral reef. Her body brushes the water, grazed…
by the foam where I traced discreet tattoos, like an echo of the memories engraved by the ocean. Between depth and lightness, I sought to play on contrasts, mixing transparencies and reliefs, fluidity and structure, so that the moment becomes a sensation, this moment when everything is suspended, between sky and sea, between dream and reality.
