About this artwork
The Moult – Renaissance and Freedom
A woman from behind, naked, abandons herself to nature, blending into the deep blue that embodies absolute freedom. She is no longer just a body, but a fluid presence, a breath that unites with the living forces of her environment. Her skin fades into the Polynesian luxuriance, like an echo of the inseparable link between human and plant.
White tattoos snake across her like intertwined vines. Ancient imprints… of a bygone history, they slowly detach themselves, fading in her movement of emancipation. It is a molt, a rebirth. Her entire being vibrates with a gentle power, a liberated femininity that asserts itself with grace.
On her head rests a crown of leaves, a symbol of connection and harmony with the natural world. Behind her, the textured background in blue and gold evokes a crocodile skin, the embodiment of brute strength, primal instinct, the power of transformation.
Nourished by the colors of Africa and the serenity of Polynesia, Stéphanie Gendron creates works that combine collages, plant fibers, natural pigments, acrylic and gold leaf. Her style, at the crossroads of the abstract and the figurative, explores the dualities of existence – Yin and Yang, shadow and light – while celebrating the balance and poetry of life. Accompanied by poetic texts, her creations invite a unique sensory and emotional immersion.
