IN THE MOOD TO FLY is a mixed media wall artwork that explores the tension between the impulse for escape and the structures that restrain it. Built from layered wooden fragments, painted elements, and textile bindings, the piece reveals only partial glimpses of a human presence—an eye, a mouth, fragments of skin—interrupted by a fragile yet insistent framework. The composition suggests movement that is constantly negotiated, as if the figure exists… between expansion and containment.
Materiality plays a central role. Raw wood, thread, and paint interact with photographic elements, creating a tactile surface that reflects processes of construction, fragmentation, and repair. The viewer is invited into a close but incomplete encounter, where perception is guided and partially denied.

Stanimir Enchev is a Bulgarian multidisciplinary artist whose practice fuses contemporary sculpture with traditional craftsmanship.
