About this artwork
This sculpture in bronze and stone is, for me, a vibrant fusion of matter and form. Using the assemblage technique, I sought to create a powerful presence that is both timeless and dynamic. The patina and textures lend it a mysterious depth, bringing an inspiring, tranquil energy to your space. It invites you to pause and experience the harmony of nature and art.
"Amazonia" is crafted from amazonite on patinated bronze. Gemstone and metal are firmly… joined in an unusual fusion of sculpture and three-dimensionality, blending almost seamlessly. This creates a dramatic tension, a kind of polarity, suggesting a "growing out of oneself – transcending oneself" in a grand sense.
It emphasizes movement while simultaneously functioning as a decorative piece. The bronze has varying degrees of patina and polish.

The path of German painter and sculptor Stefanie von Quast led from studies in painting and graphic design to training in sculpture and bronze casting. She utilizes a variety of techniques and materials to seamlessly transition between painting and sculpture, with particular attention to color, drawing, and surface texture. The focus is on the human being from a unique, positive perspective. Body language and posture intuitively reflect the dynamics of interpersonal relationships.
For several years now, she has been painting using mixed media on thin stone slabs, blending the stone's natural grain with the painting. This represents a further step toward merging painting and sculpture. In her sculptures, special techniques create a harmonious blend of stone and bronze.
She has been working as a freelance artist for over 30 years, with regular exhibitions, art fairs and numerous commissions.
