About this artwork
Digital pollution is produced by powering the infrastructure that allows the digital network (internet) to function. The ever-increasing number of network users, the massive amount of data to be processed, the power needed and the energy that is consequently consumed are responsible for the constant increase in emissions that alter the climate: the production of CO2 is in an inexorable and alarming growth. The artist materializes digital pollution… on his canvas in the form of intertwining waves, and destroys them with lashes of color; here is the invitation to contemporary man for a thoughtful use of the net.
« My art is a mirror of contemporary man: the deeper one looks, the more consciousness is stirred. This is where beauty comes from. »
Stefano Di Loreto is an award-winning painter and sculptor based in Italy whose works have been exhibited in prestigious art events nationwide, such as the 57th International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia in 2017, as well as in the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands. Di Loreto uses his art as a tool to raise awareness in society on issues such as climate emergency, pollution, globalization but also to stimulate the human soul to a more interior and profound reflection on time, consciousness and ethics of contemporary man. He has created a unique and recognizable style that he called "Conceptual Deconstruction".
