About this artwork
Monet's hat wasn't blue, but the impression of an imagined experience doesn't necessarily have anything to do with reality. Isn't it a lovely image to see the master's hat floating in his beloved water lily pond? A cheerful picture, certainly not painted in his style, that lightheartedly and quite impressionistically amuses itself with an insignificant little mishap that could well have happened.
