About this artwork
Something new from my workshop! A set of Tric Trac/Backgammon pieces, figuratively designed in bone/cowhide, glued onto wooden playing pieces. 30 pieces, each 30mm x 8mm.
Based loosely on bad historical sources from the 15th century!
I read that from the 15th century onwards, the stones were no longer made entirely of bone, but of wood or with inlays. But for me, the manufacturing process was paramount, and since there were hardly any templates… available anyway, I'm quite satisfied.
