As a film producer and actress, I see the world in cinematic 'frames.' 'The Gilded Guardian' is the premiere artifact of my Gilded Archive series—a visual companion to a 250-page fantasy manuscript written by my partner.
Created in the quiet intensity of the night, I painted this piece on my living room floor while our daughter slept nearby. This 'guerrilla' approach results in a raw, 'live-take' energy. I mounted the first four pages of Chapter… One from the manuscript onto stretched canvas, using a bespoke coffee-patina to evoke a found historical document.
Though no lion appears in the novel, this creature emerged as a spiritual protector of the world being built—a 'found legend' of regal strength. This work is a visual dialogue between his words and my vision; a fragment of collaborative history and the resilience of a woman reclaiming her voice.
