About this artwork
“Here Comes the Sun”
This acrylic on canvas, measuring 38" x 38", is an abstract exploration of a fleeting moment observed in nature. It began with my simple joy of witnessing a bed of white roses, bathed in the nuanced light of a morning sun, set against the stoic backdrop of a grey wall in my courtyard. Thankfully, my iPhone allowed me to grab that precise, singular moment.
In this work, "Here Comes the Sun," I wanted to capture the simple beauty… of that instant—the gentle illumination of white petals by the early morning light, a beauty that, like all such moments, exists uniquely in its passing. This particular interaction between light and form created a "morning's kiss" on the roses. The abstract painting process allowed me to explore beyond the visual, delving into the feeling and essence of that delicate transition from shadow into light.
« Feeling, instinct, and curiosity about life can heal life's wounds. Allowing those wounds to be seen and felt through the act of painting is a wordless trust ... »
