About this artwork
A late summer view at the Massachusetts Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary here in Southeastern Massachusetts. Mowed fields yield to a salt water estuary, then to the Atlantic Ocean. It's common to see snowy egrets, osprey, an occasional bald eagle, and even a snowy owl at the right time of year. Monarch butterflies pass through in droves in the fall on their migration south.
Painted en plein air and back in the studio. This measures 16" high by 40" wide,… is professional grade acrylic on canvas, framed with thin wood lattice strips, wired and ready to hang.
« I’m attracted to items built or left by others that weren’t intended to be objects to contemplate. I want to be to art what Robert Frost is to poetry. »
