About this artwork
One of the artist's favorite landscapes of all time is standing on the Brooklyn, New York side of the Brooklyn Bridge facing Manhattan at night. She re-created the features of the bridge and beautiful city landscape with the sky lit up by a bright yellow full moon. Bright hues of turquoise blue water, a violet sky, contrasting lights and the dramatic arch of the bridge itself were brought to life in the painting. Graef grew up very near New York…
City and lived in SOHO for some years, enjoying the city and the huge beautiful landscape created by that bridge. This painting is acrylic on stretched canvas, unframed and completed with neatly painted edges, all hardware attached and ready to hang on the wall.

Sue Graef is an American artist whose work is characterized by brilliant color. Working principally in acrylics, Graef creates her semi-abstract paintings by quickly applying color over color, allowing spontaneous creation to play a large part in her work. Her works are vibrant re-creations of what she sees in life. Whilst people can almost always recognize the subject of the painting, Graef twists the perspective and playfully experiments with the colors for fantastic results.
