About this artwork
Over the course of my career, I have been been inspired by the musicians in my life and the beautiful instruments they play. Hand made instruments are works of art in themselves and I cherish the intricate details of carved scrolls, knobs, strings, buttons and other things found on these instruments.
This particular instrument is a Turkish oud, a pear-shaped stringed instrument, distinct for its bright, high-pitched tone making it ideal for fast,… intricate melodies in Turkish folk, art, and urban music.

Sue Graef is an American artist whose work is characterized by brilliant color.
