About this artwork
The work represents a female portrait inspired by the aesthetics of the Renaissance or early Baroque. The face, with its clear and intense gaze, stands out for its serenity and a certain solemn rigidity, reinforced by the slender neck characteristic of the period. The ochre, brown, and gold tones of the hair and clothing contrast with a black background that enhances the figure's strength.
However, on the right side, an unexpected element appears:… a contemporary device, a Bluetooth device, which disrupts the composition. This detail breaks with the classic interpretation and opens a dialogue between past and present. It is an ironic and contemporary nod, questioning the timelessness of the historical portrait by inserting a symbol of digital communication into it.
This contrast provides a contemporary and conceptual touch: the work does not simply recreate an antique portrait, but reinterprets it in a modern way.
